This artwork depicts Endless’ iconic Chapel perfume bottle, inspired by alluring Chanel No.5 fragrance – a recognisable luxury item across the world. Endless’ ‘brand worship’ ethos comments on the way modern society is shackled by the lure of luxury and designer goods and worships’ these objects as though they were religious artefacts, hence the name, ‘Chapel’. The bottles are stacked in a layered fashion, to represent excessive consumption and the desire for materialistic luxury. Endless has used his traditional colour palette of vibrant blues, to draw in the eye of the viewer, in a similar way to an advertisement billboard. The large “WORSHIP” title also references the use of slogans and headlines in the advertising industry. Endless created this artwork with spray and acrylic paint and the use of hand-cut stencils.
